Rett Syndrome is a neurological disorder that affects girls almost exclusively and is characterized by a normal early growth and development followed by a slowing of development.

A patient with Rett Syndrome often loses use of their hands, has slow brain and head growth and can have problems with seizures and walking.

The International Rett Syndrome Foundation will be holding a conference in New Orleans this weekend.

And here now to tell us more is Paige Nues, director of family support and also the mother of Katie, who is suffering from Rett Syndrome

If you would like more information on Rett Syndrome and the conference this weekend, go to the Seventh World Rett Syndrome Congress website at worldcongress.rettsyndrome.org.
