NEW ORLEANS - Reverend Fred Luter made history by becoming the first African-American to lead the Southern Baptist Convention in its nearly 170 year history.

It happened in his home town in New Orleans.

Luter is also the pastor of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church.

He joined us with more on his new position that many say is a sign that racial barriers are coming down.
