This month the city of New Orleans is trying to raise awareness of its Intact Dog Ordinance, which requires dogs that aren't spayed or neutered to be permitted, or the owner can face fines.

Joining the Eyewitness Morning News with more on why the ordinance is so important, and to introduce a dog that's up for adoption is Louisiana-SPCA CEO Ana Zorrilla.

If you'd like to apply for an intact dot permit or exemption, you can pick up an application on the West Bank at the Louisiana-SPCA, located at 1700 Mardi Gras Boulevard. They're open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Sundays from noon until 5:00 p.m.
