With the fast approaching 50th Anniversary of a day which changed America forever, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, there will be dozens of special programs commemorating the anniversary, including one Saturday night on WWL-TV.

CBS’ Bob Schieffer was a reporter at the time of the assassination and will anchor Saturday night’s special, and shared his memories of the time with Dennis Woltering, including an encounter with Lee Harvey Oswald's mother.

The CBS 48 Hours special, “As It Happened: John F. Kennedy 50 Years," airs Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. on WWL-TV channel 4.

And next week, look for more of WWL-TV’s special coverage of the JFK Anniversary, on the Eyewitness Morning News, including Lee Harvey Oswald's connections to New Orleans.
