When voters in St. Tammany Parish go to the polls on election day, November 6, they'll find an important local measure up for a vote - the renewal of the ad valorem tax dedicated to public health.
More than anything else, this tax supports suicide prevention in St. Tammany, a task made more difficult in 2012 by the closing or reorganization of the Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville.
St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister was in the studio to talk about the tax and a few other issues.
