NEW ORLEANS - Ever notice how easy it is for some people to lose weight, while others try everything with little effect and still others eat what they want and never gain a pound?

We know genetics is a factor, and so is diet and exercise, in how we gain weight, but what about our health?

Those are just two of the questions the LSU Health Sciences Center's Trim Teens Study is trying to find out. They are also looking to their relationship to asthma in black girls.

Rebecca Miller is a nutritionist with study and joined us with more information.

The study is looking for black girls who are 13 to 19-years-old and are overweight.

To learn more about the study or to register your child, call 568-5949 or visit http://publichealth.lsuhsc.edu/trimteens.html.
