Hurricane Isaac caught everyone in Southeast Louisiana a little off guard.

For the people of Terrebonne Parish, which was supposed to be on the western or weaker side of the storm (but where it actually made its second landfall,) the damage was widespread.

Parish President Michel Claudet was in the studio with more information.

Terrebonne Parish residents can still get answers to their questions on disaster assistance or sign up for assistance at the American Legion Hall FEMA Recovery Center at 602 Legion Avenue in Houma. It's open on Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. You can get information by calling 800-621-3362 or by visiting http://www.disasterassistance.gov/.
