NEW ORLEANS - There's one line in the traditional wedding vows that everyone should take seriously - "for better or for worse."
Every relationship goes through periods of adversity and stress.
How we cope during those times require resilience.
What does that mean and how do you know you have it? Dr. Eileen Palace was in the studio to answer those questions.
Palace is doing studies on a couple of important health problems and is looking for participants.
The first is a smoking cessation study. All three of the medications people are using now, Chantix, Zyban and the patch, are included in the study. Those who are chosen to participate will receive medical care at no cost during the one year study. To enroll, you must be between the ages of 18 and 75, smoke at least 10 cigarettes a day and are motivated to quit. For more information, call 834-4500.
There are also three studies underway for type 2 diabetes and weight loss studies. For all three studies, you must have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. For the first study, you must not have ever used insulin. For the second study, you must be using long-acting insulin. For the third study, you must be using vials, not insulin pens. Patients in this one year study will receive free medical care. For more information, call 834-4500.
