Toys for Tots gears up for the holidays with local events, benefit show

Since 1947, the Toys for Tots program has delivered some 300-million toys to kids all over America, and it's not finished growing.

There will be several Toys for Tots events coming up between now and Christmas, including the 4th annual Toys for Tots Benefit Show.

Joining the Eyewitness Morning News to talk about Toys for Tots is Gunnery Sergeant Huerta and with details on this year's show, From 90 to Nothing, Jesus Hernandez.

The 4th annual Toys for Tots Benefit Show will be Saturday, December 7, starting at 9 pm at Hurricanes Sports Bar, 1414 Veterans Boulevard in Metairie. The event is for anyone 21 years old or older, and admission is free. If you bring an unwrapped toy or make a monetary donation to Toys for Toys that night, you will receive a ticket and be entered into a prize drawing. For more information, click here.
