That was the dragon dance, the most familiar Asian New Year tradition to Americans, and it is a part of every Tet celebration.

The New Orleans East Vietnamese community will mark the start of the New Year, the year of the horse, with a Eucharistic celebration at Mary Queen of Vietnam Church Friday January 31, at 6:30pm.
