NEW ORLEANS - Guinea pigs aren't pigs and aren't from New Guinea.
Instead, they are members of the rodent family and are considered great starter pets for older children.
Brenda Walkenhorst of the Audubon Institute brought along a guinea pig to tell us more.
She also had the details on the Celebracion Latina, which is Sunday at the Audubon Zoo at 11 a.m.
The event features live music, children's activities and authentic Latin cuisine.
Festival activities are included in regular admission to the zoo.
