Next time you’re outdoors and you want to whip up some enticing delicacies on the old barbecue grill…go into the freezer and get some big peeled shrimp, a pair of tongs, a bowl, a bottle of Italian salad dressing, goodly amount of garlic hot sauce, and a handful of bamboo skewers.
First, pour out the dressing and the spices in the bowl…then mix in about a half cup of pureed vegetable mirapoix (that’s onions, celery, bell pepper, garlic, parsley, and green onions)…and drop the shrimp into the dressing.
Now…let them marinate for about an hour or so—it’s better if you let them soak overnight, but an hour will do. Then run them up on skewers and gently place them strategically on the grill!
Cook ‘em over medium heat, turning constantly until you see the shrimp turning pink (just don’t overcook them). Now you’re gonna hafta watch ‘em because this isn’t one of those recipes you can walk away from.
But I tell you what! When they’re ready, you’re actually gonna fight over them they’re that good!
