Gingerbread Dough and Royal Icing

Ginger Bread Dough

3 cups All-purpose flour

½ teaspoon Baking Powder

½ tsp Ground Ginger

½ tsp Ground nutmeg

½ tsp Ground Cloves

½ tsp Ground Cinnamon

½ cup Butter, unsalted and melted

½ cup Molasses

½ cup Brown Sugar

¼ cup Water

1 each Egg


Using a paddle attachment cream the butter, brown sugar, molasses, water, egg and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

Fold in the flour, baking powder, ginger, nutmeg, clove and cinnamon; allow to mix for 2-3 minutes until completely combined.

Remove the dough from the bowl and divide in two pieces, refrigerate for at least an hour.

Roll to ¼ inch thick and cut into desired shapes.

Bake at 350 until golden brown (approximately 8-10 minutes).

Royal Icing

½ pound 10x powdered sugar

1 teaspoon Lemon Juice

2 each Egg Whites


Combine all ingredients.
