Tourism is the biggest industry in the city of New Orleans, bringing in $5 billion in revenue for the city each year and supporting 70,000 employees.
To celebrate national travel and tourism week, many of those workers will take part in a rally that started with a parade on Canal Street Tuesday morning.
Kelly Schulz of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitor’s Bureau talked with Sally Ann Roberts and Eric Paulsen about the significance of the rally and the week.
