Capt. Kerry Audibert this week, for the second time in a year, fished out of Breton Sound Marina with Bryan Morrow and Craig Balestra, along with their buddy Randy Champagne, got a slow start but a bang-up finish. We started out close by BSM putting a few fish in the box. Covering a lot of water was the only ticket.
The guys started on the Delacroix side and got on a slow but steady bite immediately. Kerry says they wanted to leave the spot several times, but the action was just enough to keep'em interested.
Eventually, the bite slowed to a crawl, so they moved over a couple hundred yards and picked up a few redfish and a perch.
Within about 10 minutes, though, the guys headed up the river, stopped in a small pond, and started a drift.
"Corks started down, down, and down" Capt. Kerry recounted excitedly. "Frank, I anchored us up and we were able to do a number on the fish. In short order, we had 100 speckled trout on ice along with a few redfish to boot! It wound up another awesome trip for the guys, and Randy even had a time too! These guys could fish and that made all the difference in the world with the conditions!"
