¾ cup granulated sugar
5 tsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups boiling water
1 heapng Tbsp. lemon zest
3 Tbsp. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 Tbsp. butter + 4 Tbsp. melted
Juice and zest of 2 oranges
1 cup powdered sugar
In a 2-1/2 quart saucepan thoroughly combine the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
Then, a little at a time over medium-high heat, pour in the boiling water and cook the ingredients, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes thick and clear.
Now, stir in the lemon zest, orange zest, lemon juice, orange juice, and butter.
Combine only until fully blended.
Then serve generously by drizzling it while still warm over the pudding and dusting the pudding top with confectioner's sugar.
By the way, this recipe makes about 2 cups of this spoon-lickin' sauce.
