Early tomorrow morning Kenny Kreeger, Cameraman Tom Moore, and I will launch at The Dock off Lakeshore Drive (Old Rats'Nest Road) and head into the lake to test "dead of winter fishing" in that body of water. Capt. Kenny is optimistic!
"I know the fish are there--trout, reds, flounder, sheepshead, drum, channel mullet, even big freshwater cats left over from the opening of the Spillway," the revered charter guide confided. "The only thing that has keep them out of my ice chest is the horrible conditions of the lake water following all the windy days we've been having.
"Tomorrow is looking pretty good and water has been relative still for the past couple of days, allowing the suspended silt to settle out and leave us with some relatively clean and clear water. Based on my past experience, I'm thinking it's gonna give the fish out there a chance to feed again."
By tomorrow evening, right here on this website, I'll give you the complete picture of what you can expect for this weekend. Be sure to give it a read.
