My successor for "The Fishin' Game Report," Don Dubuc and I will climb aboard with Capt. Mike Gallo Thursday at Salt Bayou to formally transfer the show the old show to a new "host."
"I feel really good knowing that Don will take the reins of the F&G program," Frank was quoted as saying Tuesday morning after the two men discussed future programming for the 30-year-old show. "Don and I have worked together for nearly 4 decades and I'm totally convinced that the Louisiana sportsman will have a well trained and totally professional outdoors leader when he steps in front of the camera.
"Or...to put it another way, Don knows his stuff and he's a stickler for accuracy in reporting. Whatever information he disseminates to the Channel 4 audience can be taken to the bank!"
Dubuc comes equipped with a long, proven history of truly understanding hunting, fishing, the ecology, and the environment, having been part of virtually every outdoor professional organization, including holding the office of president in many of them. He's highly proficient in explaining how "the science" relates to the sportsman within the WWL-TV viewing area.
The long-running show will continue to be aired on Thursdays at 6 pm, then picked up for re-broadcast on Channel 15, and then repeated again on Friday mornings in the 6am-9am and 9am to noon blocks,
"The transfer will be final Thursday morning when I meet again with Don at the dock and he vows that he will always have a guaranteed spot for me on the boat. And. . .that he will always be willing to provide me with an unlimited supply of trout and redfish fillets. . .cleaned of course!"
Look. . .retirement ain't no time to start eating fish sticks!
