New Year's Crock Pot Roast

Happy New Year! Serve this with your favorite recipe for cabbage and blackeye peas.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup packed brown sugar (for the coating)
1/2 cup soy sauce (for the coating)
1/2 cup ketchup (for the coating)
1/4 cup honey (for the coating)
2 Tbsp. sherry (for the coating)
3 cloves garlic (for the coating)
1 tsp. ground ginger (for the coating)
1 tsp. salt (for the coating)
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (for the coating)
5 lbs. country style ribs
1 medium onion, dried (for the ribs)
2 Tbsp. sesame seeds, toasted (for the ribs)
2 Tbsp. chopped green onions (for the ribs)
Parsley for garnish

Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the first nine ingredients. Add ribs and turn to coat. Place the onion in a 5-quart crock pot, arrange ribs on top. Cover and cook on low for 5 - 6 hours, or until a meat thermometer read 160 - 170 degrees. Place ribs on serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
