KENNER, La. -- Jefferson Parish deputies have arrested two suspects in connection with the first murder of the year in the parish, though they're still looking for another suspect, said JPSO spokesman Col. John Fortunato.
The shooting happened Jan. 3 in Avondale, where police found Cletis Jessie dead in the 200 block of Center Street with multiple gunshot wounds.
Fortunato said deputies arrested 19-year-old Danarius Meredith, of 613 Pat Dr., and 20-year-old Roddrick Petty, of 613 Pat Dr., Tuesday afternoon. Both were booked with one count of second-degree murder.
Deputies are still searching for 22-year-old Jeremy Turner, of 233 Glen Della Dr. His warrant charges him with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.
