NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police are looking for an American Cab Company driver who raped one of his riders, officials said Wednesday.
The incident occurred on July 31 just after 2 p.m., said NOPD spokeswoman Officer Shereese Harper.
Harper said the driver picked up the victim and a man at the intersection of St. Phillip and Royal streets. After dropping the man off at the intersection of St. Charles and Louisiana avenues, the suspect drove the victim to the 300 block of Cherokee Street, where according to Harper, the suspect raped her.
The suspect was driving a newer model white van, possibly a Dodge or Toyota, an American Cab.
