NOPD ask for public's help finding missing man

NEW ORLEANS – Police are asking for the public's help finding a man missing since Friday and last seen in Uptown, according to New Orleans Police Department spokesman Officer Gary Flot.

Samuel Emerson, 21, of Crowley, La., was seen Friday around 6:30 p.m., according to Flot.

"According to investigators, Samuel Emerson was last seen by reporting person Kelly Hanks at a hospital located in the 200 block of Henry Clay Avenue,"said Flot in a statement.  "Ms. Hanks advised that she was engaged in a verbal argument when Samuel Emerson when he left the hospital.  Ms. Hanks advised that Samuel Emerson was diagnosed with minor retardation and in concerned for his safety.  Ms. Hanks advised this is uncharacteristic of Samuel Emerson and has not seen or heard from him since."

Emerson is described by police as a Caucasian male, approximately 5'9", 150 pounds with a tattoo of "ROBERT" on his back.  He has short red hair and a goatee.  He was last seen wearing a white and blue jacket with white shoes in the area of Tchoupitoulas Street and Napoleon Avenue
