New Orleans ranks as one of the most exciting food cities in the U.S.

NEW ORLEANS (WWL-TV) - A national restaurant review guide has confirmed what we all know: New Orleans is one of America's best food cities.

Zagat ranked New Orleans as the 8th most exciting food city in America, beating out other cities like Atlanta, St. Louis, Dallas, Nashville and others.

"While its famed Creole cuisine, stuffed po'boys and Hurricanes with plastic straws still rein, the city of New Orleans, home to a collection of global gastronomies, has moved outside its comfort sphere into edgy, experimental goodness," the website lists.

Zagat cited specific restaurants like Turkey and the Wolf, Arnaud's French 75 Bar, Herbsaint's, Saffron NOLA, Effervescence and more for New Orleans' high ranking.
