Police arrest Hammond man connected to several burglaries

Detectives with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday connected to at least three burglaries in the Hammond and Ponchatoula areas, and has been considered a prime suspect in other home break-ins.

According to Blair Foster, a sheriff’s office spokesperson, detectives arrested 18-year-old Tyler Pines on Friday for the burglary of a home on Yokum Road.
Foster said Pines was additionally charged for a burglary in June 2007. He is suspected of taking a laptop computer from a home in that case.
Anyone with information connecting Pines to additional cases is asked to contact the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-345-6150.
