Jindal declares State of Emergency due to storms

Governor Bobby Jindal declared a State of Emergency following the heavy rains and flooding that occurred in much of the state Thursday.

The proclamation allows for the coordination of services from various agencies and streamlines funding to the Louisiana National Guard for recovery efforts.
It also allows the Department of Homeland Security to take any activity necessary in response to the situation.
The State of Emergency stands until June 13.
