St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s deputies began cracking down on underage tubing and drinking Thursday, arresting several Northshore teens for underage possession of alcohol and one 21-year-old.

Sheriff Jack Strain said deputies searched out tubing facilities in the area and stopped cars full of teens that contained cases of beer.

The drivers of those cars were booked with underage possession of alcohol. A 21-year-old driver, who had underage teens in his car, was booked with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Strain said the ages of the teens in the vehicles ranged from 15 to 17 years of age.

Among those arrested were: Jennifer Saba, 18, Abita Springs; Nicholas Chaisson, 21, Mandeville; Michael Joseph Wintermute, 17, Mandeville; and Jason Meyers, 19, Covington.

The names of individuals under 17 were withheld by authorities.
