| Recommended St. Tammany and Tangipahoa added to Fed Disaster list

St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes have been added to the Federal Disaster Declaration after an appeal by Gov. Bobby Jindal.
According to state Rep. Steve Scalise, individuals in those two parishes can apply for federal help for damage from Hurricane Gustav.
Originally 35 parishes were included in the declaration, but not the Northshore.
Gov. Jindal appealed to the federal government and the Northshore was added Thursday afternoon.
