31-year-old Allen Baham.
According to Blair Foster, a spokesperson for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Department, 31-year-old Allen Baham escaped from Ponchatoula Police custody while he was being taken to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail in Amite.
Police said Baham had an extensive criminal history, including prior escape attempts.
A tip led authorities to Baham’s whereabouts and he was captured without incident, Foster said, by Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies and Ponchatoula Police officers.
Foster said Baham was brought to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, being a fugitive from another jurisdiction, a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated burglary, simple escape and possession of stolen property.
