Anonymous tip leads to arrest of Covington's Most Wanted

11:42 AM CST on Friday, November 7, 2008

Tom Planchet / Eyewitness News

An anonymous tip helped Covington Police capture one of their most wanted criminals Thursday night, according to Captain Jack West, a police spokesman.

Covington P.D.

Damon A. Thomas

West said that after receiving a tip that Damon A. Thomas was at 350 Kleber Street in Mandeville, the Covington Police’s Street Crimes Unit, the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Mandeville Police Department surrounded the home and arrested him without incident.

West said that Thomas is a high level drug dealer who supplied drugs to mid-level and street-level dealers.

Thomas, 30, is charged with four counts of distribution of cocaine in a drug free zone, driving with a suspended license, resisting an officer and several other minor charges.
