04:02 PM CDT on Monday, April 28, 2008
GRAMBLING, La. -- Students have returned to class at Grambling State University after a series of fights led to a lockdown of campus last week.
Seven people were arrested after a series of fights on campus Friday.
There had been reports of possible gunshots Friday afternoon but the university's media relations director, Ralph Wilson, said Monday that law enforcement officials have not found a weapon and cannot verify that a shot was fired Friday.
Wilson said officials do know that some students tossed firecrackers.
