New Orleans police are investigating three overnight shooting deaths
that happened within 30 minutes of each other.
Officers patrolling the Lafitte Housing Development in the 2400 block of
Lafitte Street overheard gunshots just after 2 a.m. Saturday and later
found a 20-year-old man lying on the steps of an apartment building. He
had been shot several times and died at the scene.
Minutes before, police found a 23-year-old man lying on the ground in
the 5200 block of Burgundy Street in the lower Ninth Ward. He also died
at the scene.
And just before 2 a.m. Saturday, officers found a man who had been shot
to death in the 400 block of South Solomon Street. The victim was lying
on the steps of a house, where he had died.
Investigators are still searching for suspects in all three cases.
