October 7, 2005: Updated Number of Deceased Victims Recovered Following Hurricane Katrina

At this time, state officials, working in conjunction with coroners from local parishes, have recovered 1003 bodies.

This is an increase from 988 recovered bodies on Oct. 5, 2005.

These numbers have been reported to state officials by local coroners.
