The governor selects the entire five-member Board of Pardons. Larry Clark, a flower shop owner from Alexandria, was reappointed to the board and will serve as chairman, according to Jindal's office.

The other reappointment was Clement LaFleur, of Ville Platte, who works on youth outreach programs in the area.

New members include Leonard "Pop" Hataway, of Dry Prong, who has been Grant Parish sheriff since 1976, lost his re-election bid and will be leaving that job at the end of February; Kenneth Jones, of Slidell, a retired Wisconsin law enforcement officer; and Henry "Tank" Powell, of Ponchatoula, an insurance agent and former state House member.

The appointments require confirmation by the state Senate.
