Puglia's gun heist gets man 15-year sentence

The theft of 117 guns with an estimated value over $70,000 got a former convicted felon a 15-year sentence Wednesday.

Jermaine Surtain

Jermain Surtain, 29, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jay C. Zainey for receiving, possessing, and disposing of stolen firearms and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Court documents indicated that on New Year’s Day 2007, Puglia’s Sporting Goods was burglarized of the weapons.

Surtain was previously convicted in 2000 on possession of cocaine and in 2001 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
