U.S. Supreme Court refuses to hear Antoinette Frank case

11:08 AM CST on Tuesday, February 19, 2008

Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to hear the appeal of convicted killer Antoinette Frank, whose 1995 rampage at an eastern New Orleans restaurant left three people dead and sent her to death row.

Frank was a 23-year-old rookie New Orleans police officer when she and Rogers LaCaze terrorized the family owned Kim Anh restaurant, shooting dead Officer Ronald Williams, and two other people during a holdup.

Frank is one of two women on Louisiana's death row, located at the Saint Gabriel prison. The state of Louisiana hasn't executed anyone since 2001.

Dalton Savwoir, spokesman for the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office, says the Supreme Court reviewed Frank's appeal Friday and the justices declined to take up the case today.

An Orleans Parish jury sentenced Frank to death on October 20th, 1995, seven months after the triple homicide.
