New Orleans Police are investigating a double shooting that took place Mardi Gras evening, following a murder and fatal stabbing that took place earlier that night.

The double shooting occurred on Canal and S. Liberty streets around 9:30 p.m., police said.

Detectives learned the victims got into an argument while walking to their car and were shot.

One victim was hit in the neck and the other was struck in the hip, authorities said. The victim shot in the neck has been listed in critical condition.
