Hour-long high speed chase nets two armed robbery suspects

An hour-long high speed chase that went through much of New Orleans East, the Ninth Ward and Gentilly ended with the apprehension of two suspects that police say are responsible for several armed robberies in the city.

Matthew Barre'
Police arrested Matthew Barre’ and Riland Marshall following the chase that ended around 4 p.m. at Music and Mithra Streets.
According to the spokesman, Barre’ was the suspect in the hit and run death of a 7-year-old girl in early 2005. The spokesman said Barre’ was in court in January and during a judge’s recess, he snuck out and had been on the loose since.

Riland Marshall
Police believe that Marshall and Barre’ are responsible for several armed robberies in Orleans and Jefferson Parishes.
