According to Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, 26-year-old Terrance Pinkley was reported kidnapped just before 5 a.m. Saturday.

Shortly before noon, a detective assisting in the investigation discovered a body on the side of an abandoned home on Milan Street.

The body was positively identified as Pinkley. It was found with several gunshot wounds just a few blocks from the address where Pinkley was allegedly kidnapped.

Pinkley's mother told Eyewitness News Saturday afternoon her son left with a friend to eat at a nearby diner, but never returned home.

There was no immediate word on any motive in the case, but authorities said during the investigation they received information on possible suspects.

"We are currently looking for a 2002 or 2006 Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, believed to be occupied by at least three black male suspects," said JPSO spokesman Sgt. Larry Dyess.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call JPSO Homicide at 364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 822-1111.
