Algiers charter schools vote out CEO

10:50 PM CDT on Thursday, April 24, 2008

The Algiers Charter School board has voted out Brian Riedlinger from his position as CEO of the system, effective April 2009, following an emotional meeting at Our Lady of Holy Cross College.

The vote was 4-3.

The board had been in negotiations with Riedlinger and had requested that he resign from his other job to spend full time with the school system.

Riedlinger reportedly agreed to resign, but he was still voted out as CEO.

The board said that Riedlinger can stay on until April 2009, but his contract ends at that time.
