New chancellor at Southern

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Southern University has a new chancellor for its Baton Rouge campus.
The Southern University board decided Saturday to appoint Kofi Lomotey, currently executive vice president and provost for Fisk University in Tennessee. He replaces Ed Jackson, who stepped down about a year ago.

The other two finalists were Ray Belton, the chancellor ofSouthern University at Shreveport, and Napoleon Moses, vice president for academic affairs at Alcorn State University in Mississippi.
The three finalists were chosen from a group of 16 brought in for interviews.
