BATON ROUGE – Monday, Governor Bobby Jindal announced that he has signed the following bills passed by the legislature into law:

This bill relates to the taking of testimony of a protected person.        

 

HB 84 – R. Jones  

This bill increases penalties for failure to pay child support under certain conditions.

 

HB 129 – Monica

This bill increases the civil jurisdiction of justice of the peace courts.

 

HB 134 – Henry

This bill relates to the removal of mortgage inscriptions.

 

HB 138 – Geymann

This bill relates to the jurisdiction in which justice of the peace constables can effectuate service of process.

 

HB 155 – Katz

This bill relates to the approval of nursing facilities.

 

HB 178 – Gisclair

This bill requires students to be vaccinated against meningococcal disease as a condition of entry into the ninth grade in public schools.

 

HB 253 – Mills

This bill authorizes the reporting of suspicious activities to the Office of Financial Institutions.

 

HB 301 – Jones

This bill revises board membership requirements of the St. Mary Levee District.

 

HB 302 – Jones
