The Kenner Police Department arrested a Lake Charles man Tuesday in an online sting operation for trying to solicit sex from a juvenile on the internet.

Eric Kennedy, 31, went into an online chat room and began to speak with Kenner detectives, who were posing as a juvenile female from Kenner, authorities said. From the onset, Kennedy thought he was chatting with a juvenile female.

Kennedy sent images of his exposed genitals to the detectives and solicited to have sex with the juvenile female.

If convicted, Kennedy will be required to register as a sex offender and could face up to 25 years in prison.
