Police said the shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Bordeaux Street.

Second District officers responded to shooting call, arriving to find the victims shot multiple times to the head and the body inside a vehicle, Richardson said.

EMTs pronounced the 20-year-old dead on the scene, and the 17-year-old was taken to hospital, where he later died, police said.

Two African American males, both wearing dark clothing with dreadlocks, were seen fleeing the scene on foot toward Annunciation Street and armed with handguns, Richardson said.

Homicide detective Winston Harbin is in charge of the investigation. He can be reached at (504) 658-5300.
