The son of a well known local lawyer died Tuesday from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

The incident happened around 9:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-10 near Irish Bayou and the twin spans.

Sources tell Eyewitness News the victim is 31-year-old Anthony Torres of Chalmette. He is the son of attorney Sidney Torres III and the brother of SDT Incorporated owner Sidney Torres IV.

Authorities said Torres somehow lost control of his Crown Victoria, running into a bridge column.

It was a single vehicle crash and an investigation is underway.
