Bullets holes pierced the front door of home in St. Bernard Parish where Vantrell Bienemy was killed.

Timothy Reddick, 42, of Pointe a La Hache and Lavell Cross, 21, of Algiers were both booked with second degree murder Wednesday in connection with the murder of Vantrell Bienemy. They are being held in Orleans Parish Prison and are waiting to be transported to St. Bernard.

Bienemy was shot inside his brother’s home Monday just before midnight after he went to answer a knock at the front door of his brother’s home. Bullet holes pierced the door, and Bienemy was shot several times through the door.

Deputies said that Bienemy, who was on a cell phone at the time, answered the door but then quickly shut it after a second knock. It was then that he was shot through the door.

He was shot three times: twice in his stomach and once in his buttocks.

The killing was the third homicide of the year in St. Bernard Parish.
