Harvey man killed Monday night

Jefferson Parish deputies are investigating the shooting death of a 24-year-old man Monday night in Westwego.

Sheriff Newell Normand said that deputies found the victim’s body lying in the front yard of 605 Rene St. after receiving a call just after 10:15 p.m. that someone was shot. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and deputies pronounced him dead on the scene.

There have been no motives or suspects announced yet in this case.

The victim’s was identified by Normand as Ben Williams, 24, of 435 Third Ave. in Harvey. He was on parole for distribution of crack cocaine and had eight arrest warrants for aggravated flight from an officer, distribution of marijuana, distribution of cocaine, convicted felon in possession of a fiream and criminal neglect of family along with reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
