According to Col. John Fortunato, a sheriff’s office spokesman, the incident happened before 11:30 p.m. at apartment complex in the 1900 block of Clearview Parkway. The woman met deputies as they arrived at the scene and told them that she was confronted in the parking lot of the complex by three African-American men, all of whom were armed.
The victim said the men forced their way into her apartment to look for drugs belonging to her boyfriend, identified as Javier Sanchez, Fortunato said. The suspects taped the woman to her bed as they continued their search.
Fortunato said the suspects were still in the apartment when Sanchez returned home. The men kidnapped Sanchez at gunpoint, according to the woman, and drove off in Sanchez’s vehicle.
The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene in Sanchez’s black 2003 Ford Expedition, with Louisiana plate number REK529.
Police have asked anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle or Sanchez to contact the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office at 364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 822-1111. Callers do not have to give their name and could be eligible for a cash reward.
