Coupon clipping got you down? Yeah, I have those moments too. Sometimes it helps to write down the 'why' behind the couponing just to keep you motivated on those not-so-thrilled-to-clip days. I'm sure you have specific reasons as to why you're saving money maybe it's because of a job loss or something big like that or maybe you're just trying to save up your money for other things like school or childcare.
As my business took off, my husband and I were looking forward to building a new house and getting another car as well. Both were in our plans for the future but then something else came along. My husband's company downsized...big time...and took him out with it. The layoff was and is a major financial blow but thankfully, I did have my job and we do know how to save a little money.
I will admit we are not where we used to be but thanks to living frugally and couponing, we are still able to do a lot of the things we enjoy. And thanks to Tulsa Gold & Gems our new car wish was taken care of...which helped a ton since I drive to so many coupon workshops. Still working on the new house though...=)
In the name of 'keeping it real,' I thought I would share a few of the things I do with my coupon savings:
1. Keep my son in private school ($400 per month)
2. Afford childcare for my other son ($75 per month)
3. Get my hair colored ($120 every 2 1/2 months)
Ok, so I realize the hair color thing is quite a contrast from the first two. BUT, my hair started going gray at age 26 so coloring it became kinda a priority for me...Everyone has different financial goals and different reasons as to 'why' we coupon. Sometimes it helps to remember those and keep yourself motivated to save!
