Fake coupons cost stores real money. When stores lose money, the coupon policies we all love start changing and we do not want that. Please visit the CIC: Coupon Information Corporation for an updated list of fraudulent coupons.

Check out these FAKE Dr. Pepper coupons that have just been discovered:

Notice the HIGH value of this coupon. If the value of the coupon comes to the amount of the actual product or exceeds its value then it is likely a fake. The only exception to this rule is if the manufacturer sent you the coupon directly because of a contact you made or a special promotion. If that is the case, it would likely be mailed to you and not made available for print online.

This was a real coupon at one time and was a special promotion from the manufacturer. What makes it fake? The real coupon expired January 31, 2012. This one has an altered expiration date. This is why your source for coupons must be legit. Coupons like this should only come from the manufacturer directly not via an e-mail from a friend or a suspicious online website.

Again, the value of this coupon is very high. This means, in order for it to be legit, it must come from the manufacturers website, newsletter or social media page. Always check the source.

At this point, the majority of companies do not allow printable coupons for free products. If they have coupons for free products, those are normally sent via snail mail. If you see one on the internet and cannot verify its source, then just keep moving.

Using fraudulent coupons is no different than theft. Do not use them, always check your source and stay close to us, we always check the coupons before we post them. Do us all a favor and use legit coupons so the stores get paid and we keep those valuable coupon policies!
