Last week, we posted two amazing articles about canning Canning 101: Tools You Need to Start Canning and Canning 101: Why You Should Start Canning. I've also posted about Freezer Cooking & Cooking for One. I have since been asked multiple times about which method is better and honestly, I can tell you that both are just about the same. It's all about preference at the end of the day.
Personally, I love freezer cooking and I use websites like OnceAMonthMom.com to help me out. Because I have an extra freezer, this method just works wonders for me. However, our friend Kelly who wrote the canning posts, she mentioned that she used to freezer cook too but then her freezer broke and all those meals were lost! With canning, you don't have that risk. Although, you do have to make sure those jars are sealed well to preserve the food.
Right now, I'm only cooking for me since my boys are both still in the chicken nugget only phase so I like to freezer cook and plan for single portions. At the end of the day, it's a toss up, so I'm asking you, which method do you prefer and why?
